BEC CEO shortlisted in Northern Leadership Awards
Michael Pemberton up for Transformational Leader accolade
9th September 2019: The CEO of Profit-for-Purpose property firm BEC has been shortlisted in the first annual Northern Leadership awards.
Led by TheBusinessDesk, the awards saw more than 120 entries and BEC’s Michael Pemberton was shortlisted in the Transformational Leader category in recognition of his sterling work at Cleator Moor based BEC following the company’s change from a publicly funded organisation to a commercial entity three years ago.
The news comes hot on the heels of a shortlisting for Michael as Businessperson of the Year at the forthcoming In Cumbria Business awards.
Michael commented: “I am proud to be the leader of a wonderful company based in Cleator Moor whose purpose is to deliver significant property based development for West Cumbria. It’s safe to say I am bowled over and incredibly humbled by the news. A tremendous amount of hard work and dedication from the team, the board and our owners has led to the wholesale transformation of BEC over the past years and I am hugely grateful to everyone who has supported us on the journey so far. For us, it’s a journey that still has many miles to run.”
Winners will be revealed at the Queens Hotel in Leeds on November 28th at a ceremony hosted by BBC presenter Nina Warhurst where delegates will enjoy a keynote speech from Helen Thomas – the Director of BBC England.
Other shortlisted leaders in Michael’s category are Mark Cook of Sewtec, Gary Haynes of Utiligroup, Stephen O’Brien of Pure Technology Group, and Mandy Ridyard of Produmax.
