We Are Listed as a ‘Best Place to Work’

We are proud to announce we are listed as one of The Sunday Times’ ‘Best Places to Work’.

Here at BEC, we value the wellbeing of each employee and always lift them up to achieve their most extraordinary goals.

People who drive change

Our extraordinary team are based at the picturesque Westlakes Science Park. The backbone of everything we do, our people are highly driven and have achieved incredible change within our communities, as seen through the success of the Bus Station, Whitehaven.

Currently, we are full stem ahead on transforming the former Whittles Furniture store in Whitehaven into a Digital & Gaming Hub, a space to help young people develop their digital and creative skills opening up career pathways.

We are incredibly honoured to be recognised in this award, offering our team a four-day working week, medical and private healthcare schemes and 10 paid days of Volunteering every year- plus much more!

We are also proud of our team members for taking on roles such as Menopause Champion and Armed Forces Champion, supporting individuals who have been impacted by these respective areas.

"Commitment to providing opportunities"

Michael Pemberton, Chief Executive of BEC, said: “Celebrating our inclusion in The Sunday Times’ prestigious Best Places to Work list is truly a moment of pride for us at BEC, especially as one of the only Cumbrian companies included. It’s a testament to the dedication and passion of our team who continually strive to make our workplace a supportive and rewarding environment.

“The recognition we’ve received underscores the value we place on our people and our unwavering dedication to fostering a culture of growth, support, and inclusivity. We’re immensely grateful for this acknowledgement and remain steadfast in our commitment to providing opportunities for our employees to thrive personally and professionally.”

Chris Longcroft, EVP Publisher, The Times and The Sunday Times, said: “All organisations are only as good as the people they employ and retain. The Sunday Times Best Places to Work awards recognise companies that are innovating to create an engaged and fulfilling working environment for all and in so doing they are creating the best possible platform for business success. To be named on The Sunday Times Best Places to Work list is a true recognition of excellence and I congratulate those organisations who made the grade this year.”
