The Nuclear Decommissioning
Authority

The Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) is a co-owner of BEC, playing a central role in shaping its strategic direction. Working alongside local councils and other stakeholders, the NDA helps ensure that BEC’s projects align with regional regeneration priorities, economic resilience, and the long-term management of the nuclear legacy.

Cumberland Council

Cumberland Council is a public-sector co-owner of BEC, working in partnership to bring democratic oversight and regional strategy into the organisation’s governance. Through this collaboration, the Council plays an active role in guiding, and shaping development projects, ensuring they are aligned with community priorities.

Sellafield Ltd

As a key funding partner, Sellafield Ltd works closely with BEC to deliver projects that support regional growth and sustainable development in West Cumbria, aligned with its Social Impact Multiplied strategy. Through joint initiatives such as The Bus Station and The Levels, Sellafield Ltd and BEC are creating spaces and opportunities that strengthen the community and foster long-term impact.

Barclays Eagle Labs

In partnership with BEC and funded by Sellafield Ltd' Social Impact Multiplied programme, Barclays have opened an Eagle Labs incubator in Cumbria to help boost the region's start up and scale up ecosystem.

As BEC’s PR partner, local agency Platinum Live plays a key role in positioning BEC as a trusted, community-focused organisation. Leveraging its strong understanding of local communication channels and media networks, Platinum Live helps ensure BEC’s story is told in meaningful ways.
