A grant-funded project dedicated to supporting the local community.

We have transformed a redundant scaffolding warehouse into a thriving furniture recycling and upcycling hub, funded by Cumberland Council (originally Copeland Borough Council).

By reusing an existing industrial building, we’ve created a practical community asset that reduces waste, supports the circular economy and gives quality furniture a second life.

The hub provides space for repair, refurbishment, volunteering and skills development, turning an unloved building into a place of opportunity and social impact.

Delivered in Partnership

The transformation of the former scaffolding warehouse was delivered in partnership with William King Construction Ltd, who led on the development and refurbishment works. Working closely with us, William King played a key role in reconfiguring the industrial space into a safe and practical  furniture recycling hub.

The partnership ensured the building was adapted efficiently and sustainably, retaining the character of the original structure while creating a high‑quality environment fit for its new social and environmental purpose. This collaborative approach was central to turning an underused asset into a fully operational community facility.

Cumberland Council has been a key partner throughout construction and will continue to support the project through both ongoing delivery and its referrals process, helping ensure furniture reaches those who need it most. This collaborative approach has been central to transforming an underused industrial building into a fully operational community asset with real social and environmental impact.
