The type of personal data we collect

We currently collect and process the following information:

• Personal identifiers, contacts and characteristics (for example, name, email address and company information).

How do we collect your data?

The personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:

• Submit an email by a newsletter sign up.
• Completing a contact form online to connect with a staff member.
• Use or view our website via your browser’s cookies.
• Register interest for one of our services (e.g. STEAM Trail).

How do we use your data?

We use the information that you have given us so that we can:

• Process service requests.
• Add you to specific mailing lists.

If you submit your information to us, BEC will share your data with our software, see below the platforms we use:

• Mailchimp (email marketing platform) – only if you sign up to our newsletter.
• Outlook (our email provider).

How do we store your data?

BEC securely stores your data on an encrypted file on our network, which is accessed only for marketing.

BEC will keep your contact information for no more than 6 years. Once this time period has expired, we will delete your data by removing your information from our systems.

Marketing

If you have agreed to receive marketing, you may always opt-out at a later date.
You have the right at any time to stop BEC from contacting you for marketing purposes.

What are your data protection rights?

BEC would like to make sure you are fully aware of all of your data protection rights.

Every user is entitled to the following:

• The right to access – You have the right to request BEC for copies of your personal data. We may charge you a small fee for this service.
• The right to rectification – You have the right to request that BEC correct any information you believe is inaccurate. You also have the right to request BEC to complete the information you believe is incomplete.
• The right to erasure – You have the right to request that BEC erase your personal data, under certain conditions.
• The right to restrict processing – You have the right to request that BEC restrict the processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.
• The right to object to processing – You have the right to object to BEC’s processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.
